Ryan Lochte talked a lot of trash prior to the
2012 London Olympics, but couldn't back it up!
|
Is it just
me or are sports fans everywhere happy to see s**t-talking U.S. swimmer Ryan
Lochte win fewer gold medals than the historic Michael Phelps after repeatedly
saying how it was “his time” at this year’s London Olympics?
As a young
athlete, I was always taught that you let your game do the talking for you
(although I’ve been know to talk smack on more than one occasion). Apparently,
this is a lesson that Lochte never got from his father like I did from mine
(thanks Papa Bear Williams!).
After
boasting about this and boasting about that, Lochte walked away from this
year’s Olympic games with two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze,
which, while impressive, isn’t nearly the haul he expected and said he’d
deliver on.
Maybe
Lochte should have worried more about France ’s Yannick Agnel than Phelps after
getting beaten twice by the ‘Missile”.
As one NBC
television swimming analyst said during the competition, even though Lochte
took home an impressive collection of medals, it looks like he underachieved
big-time, mostly because of his own words.
Then
again, this is the day and age we live in….talk trash, come up short and then
forget about it!
Would
someone, in the name of Muhammad Ali – please tell me what the hell is going
on!
