Smart move Sixers!

Philadelphia resigned sweet-shooting
center Spencer Hawes.

My brother isn’t real keen on Philadelphia 76ers center Spencer Hawes but I like the sweet-shooting big man even if he does have some areas where he clearly could improve his individual game.

Philly signed the five-year veteran to a two-year, $13.1 million extension this week according to his agent Greg Lawrence. Hawes averaged 9.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game last season and became the first center in team history to score at least 20 points in consecutive playoff games since Moses Malone did  it nearly three decades ago.

While he’s not much of a rebounder and isn’t the greatest defender in the world, Hawes does have the ability to draw opposing centers away from the basket with his ability to make shots from the perimeter as that can be very useful.
