Richie Incognito just looks like an idiot to Eye on Sports! |
When the news about Miami Dolphins second-year tackle
Jonathan Martin broke a few days ago, I was shocked to say the least…an NFL
player leaving his team because of bullying?
‘Ha! What kind of weak-minded football player gets bullied
by his own teammates at the game’s highest level’ I thought to myself.
Now however, as more information has been released over the
last couple of days, I am admittedly, singing a totally different tune and one
that says Richie Incognito should be banned from the NFL for the remainder of
the 2013 regular season at the very least.
As a matter of fact, I’ll be honest and admit that I’m
flat-out pissed that the apparently psychotic Incognito was allowed to get away
with his strong-arming for the length of time that is being reported. If it is
found that Incognito was indeed, harassing Martin throughout his entire rookie
season a year ago, then I believe the ‘NFL’s Dirtiest Player’ should be banned
for the entire 2014 season as well.
One thing that has changed my thought process on the entire
incident is the fact that Incognito has a long history of strange behavior and
outright dirty play that dates back to his collegiate playing days at Nebraska .
This article sheds some light on the disturbed guard’s
problematic history.
Incognito was involved in an incident on South
Beach earlier this year that ended
up with punches allegedly being thrown but the veteran guard not being charged
with any crime.
Since 2008, Incognito has been fined a whopping $95,000 by
the NFL for a late hit, both, verbal and non-physical offenses against officials,
face mask, chop blocks, as well as striking/kicking and kneeing.
Incognito was fined $10,000 for a late hit in November 2012
and was at one time considered the dirtiest player in the NFL, though e lost
that title to Ndamukong Suh last season.
The bottom line is this NFL fans…if Incognito was stupid
enough to leave demeaning and harassing text messages and racially-charged
voice mails…he’s absolute toast in the NFL…thankfully!
