With rumors swirling that he was going to be on a short leash for Sunday’s AFC wild card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, not to mention word of John Elway’s future quarterback plans being up in the air – and young quarterback Tim Tebow put on the best passing performance of his still blossoming career.
The southpaw signal-caller completed 10 of 21 passes for a whopping 316 yards with two TD passes and one touchdown jaunt to silence his legion of critics that continue to harp on the polarizing quarterback’s atypical quarterbacking style. Still, it’s kind of hard not to be on the ‘Tebow Time’ bandwagon – and since I’ve been praising his leadership skills and ability to motivate everyone around him – I’m going to continue to drive the bandwagon bus – at least for another week.
Hey Eric .... If you're going to drive the bandwagon bus, why don't you buckle up your seat belt? You either believe in the T-Man or you don't. Sure he's unconventional and he can be high-level excellent one week, then high-level awful the next. I don't doubt that he can play. What I wonder is how long can his body hold up against the pounding he's sure to take over the course of four or five seasons.
ReplyDeleteThe T-Man is inconsistent, and until he proves that he can be consistent at this level, I'm not hopping on his bus. He beat a Steelers team that lost its entire starting defensive line before or during the game and held out its starting safety, Ryan Mundy, due to the problems that sickle cell patients have with high altitude. You can't forget the three eggs he laid in the final three weeks of the regular season and proclaim him back based on one game against a team as beat up as the Steelers. I'll be a believer if he beats New England and Baltimore, and not before.
