Charles Barkley’s Still a Jackass Hater – Duh!

Okay Eye on Sports readers, it was just about a month ago when I had to rip Charles Barkley a new, ‘you-know-what’ for basically being a Tim Tebow hater of epic proportions.

Now, Barkley’s back to bad-mouthing the most polarizing professional athlete in the world today – and I’m just about sick and tired of Barkley’s big-mouth – despite the fact that I’ll go to my grave actually liking the guy.

Yes, Barkley’s a jackass of epic proportions that doesn’t mind telling people where to go or how to get there, (which, ironically, is why I like him) but he’s way off base for ripping on Tebow the way he has recently, particularly when the multi-faceted Denver Broncos signal-caller has never, ever said one bad thing about him.

Barkley was on air with iconic Philadelphia sports talk guy Mike Missanelli of 97.5 the Fanatic in the City of Brotherly Love on Tuesday when he shared some more of his idiotic, hate-filled feelings on Tebow.

"The national nightmare continue,” Barkley began. “Hey, listen, I like Tim Tebow (that’s a lie Eye on Sports readers) but there comes a point, he had a great game. He's supposed to have a great game," Barkley said.

Missanelli asked Barkley if he has had enough of Tebow.

"I think the world has," Barkley replied. "First of all, Mike, I don't know anything you said about Tebow but let's just say the jury is still out on Tebow. He seems like a nice kid but these ups and downs are so different. The jury is still out on Tebow. Just because he had a great game and made four or five great throws yesterday doesn’t mean he's gonna’ be a great starting quarterback in the NFL."

Maybe it’s me, but I have never seen a retired professional athlete that is in the Hall of Fame no less, consistently rip one of today’s generation of players for absolutely no good reason whatsoever.

First and foremost, Barkley never played in the NFL so his opinion really shouldn’t carry much weight (pardon the pun) at all. However, when you’re as big and loud – and funny – as Charles Barkley is – then someone, somewhere is going to listen – and in the end – maybe that’s all Charles wants to begin with … to remain relevant!

No matter the reason however, I say Barkley’s wrong – and at his age – he should already know, karma’s a bi**h!

Critiquing professional athletes is almost a given right of every person, much like rating an actor's performance.

You seem to be hating the meeenger because you disagree with the message they project.

On Mr. Tebow; I agree with Mr. Barkley; 4 or 5 games do not a professional make. Especially when you factor in the 3-4 games that were disasters!

First, his career will be short-lived if he continues to run and take the hits he will have to endure.

Second, his release is still slow and fairly easy to see where he's going with a pass.

Last; he has yet to collect consistency, which is mandatory in any professional sport.

And only time will determine if he does.

In most any logical and rational evaluation - the jury is out for a long dinner on Mr. Tebows' career and future as a professional quarterback!

Yeah, but as much as Barkley rips on him, he never gives credit for what he does good ... like raise the level of play of all of his teammates. I don;t care how good he looks or not as long as the scoreboard has one more point than the other team!
