Damn, my boy, Marcos ‘Big Smilin’ Baghdatis wasn’t smiling too much on Wednesday at the Aussie Open – and for good reason as he got his brains beat in by Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1. Baghdatis went all ‘Mikhail Youzhny’ on Wednesday in smashing four racquets during a changeover, but still, everyone loves the guy with one of the most infectious personalities and biggest smiles in all of professional sports.
Ironically, it was the in third set that Baghdatis won when he smashed his racquets, which makes me think maybe the fiery Cypriot should have had a few more sticks in his bag to break for the ensuing fourth set.
