Lest anyone forget, the multi-faceted Hill was well on his way to an apparent Hall of Fame career after coming into the league with the Detroit Pistons and becoming the league’s best all-around player for six seasons.
After signing a free agent contract with Orlando before the start of the 2000-01 season, Hill lost nearly four full seasons while dealing with horrific ankle injuries and multiple ensuing surgeries.
Well, after finally getting healthy in his final season with the Magic in 2006-07, Hill has once again become a model of consistency in averaging double figures in scoring in each of the last four seasons with the Phoenix Suns.
Now, entering his 17th season in the league, Hill looks like a guy half his age – while playing far better than half of today’s youngsters.
Hill is a class act both on and off the court and with idiots like LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and now, Chris Paul, running around trying to form their own ‘super teams’ the ‘old-school’ respect-first ways of Grant Hill are refreshing to say the least!
