World No. 4 Andy Murray is poised for big things moving forward. |
Current
World No. 4 (not for much longer) Andy Murray may have spanked my guy, World
No. 1 Roger Federer in their gold medal Olympic showdown, last week, but I
predicted the outcome of the match well before the pair ever stepped on court –
and guess what Eye On Sports tennis fans?
I say it’s
good for the quickly-blossoming Murray, the incomparable Federer and the ATP
Tour in general!
The
remainder of the 2012 season is going to be a thriller tennis fans, mostly
because Murray is now an even bigger threat to win his first major, not to
mention the fact that Juan Martin Del Potro is looking as good as he ever has
since beating Federer in the finals of the 2009 U.S. Open.
One things
for sure, another ‘changing of the guard’ appears to be taking place at the top
of the ATP Tour, even if it is more of a ‘shuffle’ of the top five players than
anything else.
